2010 FLAMES BANQUET A HUGE SUCCESS! (03-09-10)
Most of the 40 Flames gals and their families attended our season ending banquet. Team awards, food, prizes made the night fun. Great season gals!!
FLAMES CLUB GOES TO CMU WOMENS GAME! (02-28-10)
20+ Flames Club girls and family members attended a unbelievable CMU game and seen the Chips beat Eastern Michigan 113-107!! Wow what a 2OT game it was. Lots of scoring!
FLAMES BASKETBALL 2010 season sign-up is Nov 3rd (10-20-09)
Parents & athletes are to sign-up for the 2010 season on Nov. 3rd in the Farwell HS Media Center anytime between the hours of 7:00 and 8:00pm.

Get your shoes on because it coming. Tryouts for all teams on Dec. 6th at Farwell NEW HS gym at 9:00am. Register early by going to "Sign-up To Play" page and click "Sign Me Up".

K-2 LITTLE SHOT CAMP A BIG SUCCESS (03-29-07)
This Saturday makes the end of our 5 weeks of K-2 Little Shot camp for girls and boys in kindergarten - 2nd grades. Every Saturday morning 50+ kids pour into the MS gym for fundamental work and scrimmaging and along with the 75+ parents and grandparents it makes it fun.. It has been a blast working with these future Farwell ball players.
FARWELL FLAMES BASKETBALL CLUB BANQUET A SLAM DUNK (03-28-07)
200+ Flames athletes and family members filled the new HS cafeteria March 22nd for our 2007 Flames Basketball Club season ending banquet. Jay Smith (former assistant at U of M and former head coach at CMU) was the main speaker and also spent time in the gym coaching shooting fundamentals to our girls. After some dessert Coach Smith addressed the group and then each coach from all 6 Flames teams recognized their team> '> s hard work, accomplishments and presented certificates. Coach Owens spent time talking of the program> '> s direction and challenged each athlete to make themselves a better player by taking advantage of our opportunities. Special thanks were given to all our athletes, coaches and parents and many prizes given out. 50 out of the 55 girls involved this season were present for a great turnout! Stay in the games, play Flames!
FLAMES SEASON ENDING BANQUET (02-22-07)
We are working out details for our banquet in March. This banquet is open to all Flames players and their parents to celebrate our season. Each team will be recognized and all uniforms are required to be turned in this night. Flames will provide deserts, 6:30-8:00. More to come once a date is selected to use new cafatorium.
K-2 CAMP COMING IN MARCH (01-15-07)
This is for our youngest kids, kindergartners through second grade, girls and boys. K-2 Little Shot basketball is designed to teach the fundamentals of basketball (dribbling, passing, shooting, man-to-man defense), as well as teamwork and good sportsmanship in a clinic and game setting. This camp will be in the newly renovated middle school gym where we can drop hoops down to eight feet and use youth size balls, 5 consecutive Saturday mornings from 9:00 – 10:30 beginning March 3rd through March 31st. Each athlete will receive a free camp T-shirt.
3 GAL WORKOUTS (01-11-07)
HS girls or even MS girls who are serious about working out with Coach Owens for an hour after school on Mondays and Wednesdays need to contact him. This is designed to work on shooting and ball handling drills with a maximum of 3 girls at a time. This will run through the spring.
FLAMES T-SHIRTS GOING INTO PRODUCTION (01-10-07)
Our official Flames Basketball Club T-shirts will be going into production next week and should be ready to pass out soon. Coaches will be notified when they come in.
FLAMES TO CMU (01-10-07)
41 Flames athletes, 7 coaches and about 14 willing parents went to an exciting CMU women’s game Wednesday, Jan 10th to watch the Lady Chips. It was a great time of fun and watching a close game go into overtime as CMU lost to Ball Sate at the end. We hope all 41 girls not only had fun but learned something tonight. The girls who play at the college level put lots of time into their game at a young age to get to where they are.
TEAMS IN ITHACA LEAGUE (01-05-07)
All teams in Ithaca league will be getting your game schedules from league soon as it begins on January 20th.
DEADLINE FOR GETTING SPONSORS NAMES ON T-SHIRTS (01-04-07)
The deadline for having a sponsors name on the back of our Flames T-shirts is January 8th. Get them into us ASAP so they will get printed with shirts.
COACHES MAKE SURE TO COLLECT TEAM MONEY FOR FUNDING YOUR TEAM (01-02-07)
Each coach is to collect enough money from each player to cover the cost to play in tournaments and/or leagues, plus each ones T-shirt ($7.00 ea). Make sure you figure all of it out and begin collecting so you have the funds to pay for referees and/or tournament entry fees. Many of you are collecting sponsorship money which helps to cover the cost of the new set of uniforms. Thanks
