THE EVEN JUMP
T
he tip goes straight ahead to #4. #3 goes to the basket and #2 reads the play and moves accordingly. #1 starts back defensively before the tip to help defend if needed.
THE OPTION 1 JUMP
The tip is made to the player on the left, #3. Establish this side person in advance by eye contact. At the time of tip, #4 steps forward and screens #5's defender. #5 cuts for the basket and receives a lob pass from #3 (#3 can dribble toward basket if needed). #1 starts back defensively before the tip to help defend if needed.
THE OPTION 2 JUMP
The tip is made straight ahead to #4. #2 makes a cut over the center which impedes the movement of the defender on #1, who is cutting toward the basket. #3 goes back on defense with the toss of the ball. #4 may pass to #1, who may be completely open or pivot into the path of #2's defender and hand the ball off to #2, who can go on their own.
THE OPTION 3 JUMP
S
imilar to Option 2, run this from a box formation. #1 and #2 line up behind the jumper with #3 and #4 ahead. #5 tips the ball ahead to their left to #4. #1 and #2 crisscross off the jumper, with the one on the ballside going first. #3, who did not receive the tip, steps forward and sets a screen on the defender of #1. #4 may pass to either of the guards. There is a good chance #1 will be open for a lay-up.
