COMMENTS ON THIS DRILL: This passing drill is meant to overload the middle player and will help players improve passing speed, accuracy, strength, and confidence.

VIDEOS OF VARIOUS TYPES OF PASSING

If done properly, the middle player really gets a workout! You can also add a twist to this drill and work on pivoting at the same time.

Position three players as shown in the diagram.

#1 and #2 will need basketballs.

#1 passes to #3 and #3 immediately returns the pass.

Player 3 pivots to #2.

Player #2 passes to #3 and #3 immediately returns the pass.

#3 turns to #1.

#1 passes to #3 and #3 immediately returns the pass.

Continue for 30 seconds or so many rotations before switching players around.

To make this a multi-use drill, use a specific pivot to turn (drop step pivot, front pivot, etc).

Focus on:
+ Accurate passes.
+ Move as quickly as possible without sacrificing form and accuracy.
+ Stepping toward your receiver.
+ When catching, extend your hands.
