HOOPZONE READING CAMPAIGN

2kidsreadingHOOPZONE Basketball promotes and encourages our youth and parents together to share the fun of reading. Read to your children early, and regularly, when your kids can’t even walk across the living room floor. Reading to very young children establishes an emotional bond with reading, and with you, a bond they want to recreate as they get older. If you and your child have never gone to the library together before, set aside a few hours for the adventure. Talk about it with your son or daughter and show your enthusiasm; however, don’t be dismayed if your child is hesitant about the journey. Some kids are naturally less eager than others to try something new.

booksBeyond a shadow of a doubt, learning to read is incredibly important. Without that basic skill, people can be effectively "left behind" in society, which can lead to a struggle for social and financial survival.

So go to your school or city library today and find a fun book to read.  Here is a great site I’ve found for all kinds of information about reading with your children, http://www.kidsandreading.co.uk/

Remember, HOOPER says “TO READ”.
